The Confidence Equation Network (T-CEN) is an educational initiative working to increase student engagement with mathematics and expand awareness of quantitative career pathways among girls from underserved communities in India.
The initiative began with the Confidence Equation Handbook, an eight-module practical problem-solving guide designed to build mathematical confidence beyond the state-board and CBSE curricula. Building on the Handbook, T-CEN will roll out Hence Proved, a series of student-led mathematics sessions grounded in its problem-solving approach. This will be followed by Numbers Count, a community fundraising campaign to support the establishment of dedicated mathematics clubs within partner NGOs. Drawing on these funds, T-CEN will introduce Count Me In, a facilitator charter paired with an ongoing extracurricular math club, creating a scalable model that partner organizations can run independently. The initiative will conclude with Missing Variable, a policy paper examining the underrepresentation of girls in mathematics and STEM through the lens of behavioural and labour economics.
